Lettre
ouverte à la LNH June 7th, 2007 Lord Stanley
of Preston Lord Stanley, We followed with much interest the 2007 NHL playoffs which ended yesterday, and were very happy to witness the underestimated Mighty Ducks finally lift your glorious trophy. But still, something is odd with all this. Why did the Ducks had to stop being Mighty before being able to win the Stanley Cup? Why didn't you let them enjoy this honor in 2003, when they clearly deserved it, but were "beaten" in game 7 by some other jerks? At that time, they were Mighty. Now that they're not anymore, they win. How's that? What message does that send to our children? After hours of philosophical discussion and thinking on this matter, we came up with the hypothesis that it has something to do with humility. Once you accept your condition, once you stop pretending you are almighty, you can focus on your duty and win. As Gordon Bombay taught us, "Concentration, not strenght." The Mighty Ducks, once they simply became The Ducks, won. More teams should inspire from this lesson of humility. Accordingly, here is a list of new team names that we would like to become effective as the start of the 2007-2008 pre-season training camps. - Los
Angeles Princes As for the Columbus Blue Jackets, since their name is as lame as it could possibly be, we believe that their suckiness is due to much more chronical problems. Please eliminate this team. They're not even funny, nor worth mocking.
